1.5 Physical Layout Requirements

This section describes physical characteristics and layout requirements of the cluster. The number
of rack units and the components within the racks vary according to the number of nodes in the
cluster and the number and type of included options. In some instances, such as planning for a
suspended-floor loading, you might need to calculate data items, such as the total weight of the
system. Consider such calculations as estimates for planning purposes only. For example, if you
find that your calculated estimates are close to the load limits for your suspended floor, you
should consult with your HP service representative.

1.5.1 HP 10000 Series Rack Characteristics

HP Cluster Platform uses the HP 10000 Series Rack shown in
