This chapter describes problems that you may experience with your
BiPAP S/T or mask and provides possible solutions.
Problem
The device does
not operate
when you press
the Pressure On/
Off button.
The air out of
the mask is
much warmer
than usual.
The mask feels
uncomfortable
to wear.
Why It Happened
If the power LED is off,
there's no power at the
outlet or the device is
unplugged. If the power
LED is on, the problem is

The inlet filters may
be dirty.
The unit may be
operating in direct
sunlight or near a heater.
This could be due to

adjustment or improper
mask fitting.
What To Do
Check the outlet
power and verify
that the device
is plugged in. If the
problem continues,
call your home care
provider.
Clean or replace the
inlet air filters as
described in Chapter
9. Make sure the unit is
away from bedding or
curtains that could
block the flow of air
around the device.
Make sure the unit is
away from direct
sunlight and heating
equipment.
If the problem
persists, contact your
home care
provider.
Check the headgear
adjustment as
described in the
headgear instructions.
Refer to your mask
instructions to make
sure the mask is
properly fitted. If the
problem continues,
contact your home care
provider for a
refitting or a different
