SECTION 5 – COMB OPENING MECHANISM
ALL COMB BINDERS
Removal :-
1. Carry out previous sections where applicable.
2. Invert infill panel assembly and remove two springs from comb opening mechanism.
3. Lift comb opening mechanism plates out of infill panel and separate plates.
Replacement :-
1. Fit comb opening drive plate to comb opening base plate by sliding drive plate under two ears at
each side of base plate, ensuring that lugs in bottom of drive plate are located in slots in base plate.
2. Fit comb clamp plate to comb opening base plate by locating two tabs in bottom of clamp plate
through slots in base plate.
3. Fit comb opening finger plate onto comb opening drive plate by locating slots in finger plate onto
diagonal lugs on drive plate and locating three tabs on bottom of finger plate into L-shaped slots in
base plate.
4. CB405/E only – Fit comb opening stop extension into slot in finger plate so that extension arm tab
is positioned upwards.
5. Fit infill panel assembly onto comb opening plate assembly checking that all tabs on comb plates
locate in appropriate slots in infill panel.
6. Invert assembly and replace two springs onto spring tabs.
7. Apply grease to all slides and gear rack slots.
