Note: Verify that the printer's On/Off switch is switched "off" before
plugging in the power cord into the electrical outlet and the power
supply's output cable into the printer.

3.3 USB Communication Interface

The 428M printer provides a single USB port for communication to a host device. In order
to communicate with the printer, the Prolific Technologies USB driver must be installed on
the host computer. This may be downloaded at http://www.microcomcorp.com/drivers.htm.
The USB driver provides the host computer a virtual serial communication port allowing the
use of a terminal emulation program to communicate with the printer using a standard USB
cable with a Type-A (host computer) and Type-B (428M printer) connectors.
