PROGRAM
Choose a sound field program based on your listening preterence,
and not on the name of the program.

Rotate PROGRAM to select the desired program.
The name of the selected program appears on the front
panel display and on the video monitor.

• When you select an input source, this unit automatically selects
the last sound field program used with that source.
• Sound field programs cannot be selected when the MULTI CH
INPUT is selected.
• Sampling freq'aencies higher than 48 kHz (except lk/r DTS 96/
24 signals) will be sampled down to 48 kHz, then sound field
programs wil! be applied.
• Enjoying Dolby Digital EX and DTS ES
software
If you connecled surround back speakers, press EX/ES to
turn on the Dolby Digital EX or DTS ES decoder when
playing Dolby Digital EX or DTS ES software.

You can select from the following modes depending on the
format of the soflwm'e you are playing.
RUTO
This mode automatically swilches between
Dolby Digital EX/DTS ES Matrix/DTS ES
Discrete according to the input signal

ON Select to enjoy 6.1 or 7.l-channel playback
by creating one or two surround back
channel(s) when playing 5. l-channel
sources.
OFF Surround back speakers do not work in this
mode.
When SURR B L/R SP is set to "LRGx l" or "SMLxI" (see
page 49), the surround back channel will be output from the left
SURROUND BACK speaker terminals.

Press AMP to select the AMP mode, then press
one of the sound field program buttons
repeatedly to select the desired program.

• Some 6J -channel compatible discs do not have a signal (flag)
which this unit can automatically detect. When playing these
kinds of discs with 6.1 -channel, select "ON".
• 6.1 -channel playback is not possible even if EX/ES is pressed in
the t'o!lowing cases:
-- When SURR B L/R SP is set m "NONE" (see page 49).
-- When the sound effect is turned off.
-- When the source connected to the MULTI CH INPUT jack is
being played.
-- When the source being played does not contain summnd L/R
channel signals.
--When Dolby Digital KARAOKE source is being played.
-- When headphones are connected.
--When "7ch Stereo" is selected.
• When the power of this unit is mined off, the input mode will be
reset m AUTO.
• When the DTS ES decoder is applied m DTS 96124 signals, you
cannot use the DTS 96124 decoding teamre.
