3. Add a 5/16" washer (A, Figure2-6)
and securewith a hairpin clip (B).
4. At upperend of control rod, re-insert
the angled end into the WheelDrive
Control lever (V, Figure2-6A) and re-
attachwith hairpin clip (BB) removed
earlier.
B. AttachOperatorPresence Control
Rod
1. Locatethe OperatorPresenceControl
rod (E,Figures.2-6 and 2-7). At bottom
of control rod, insert swivel block (G,
Figures2-6 & 2-7) into control arm (T,
Figure2-6).
2. Add one 5/16" washer and secure
with hairpin clip.
C. AttachBladeDriveControlRod
1. Locatethe bladedrive control rod (C,
Figure2-7). Insert one end of control rod
into bladedrive bracket(D, Figure2-7).
Add one 5/16"washer and attach with
hairpin clip (CC).
2. Insertthe other end of rod into bot-
tom end of BladeDrive Control lever (J,
Figure2-7). Add one 5/16"washer and
attachwith hairpin clip (AA).
D. Attachand AdjustGearSelectLever
NOTE: The retainingplate (N, Figure2-7)
mentionedin thefollowing steps is se-
cured to the rear of the mower with two
screws (0, Figure2-7) and 1/4"-20 lock-
nuts. Removethe retaining plateand
save it, along with the two screws, be-
fore proceedingwith assembly.
1. Removethe vinyl grip (B, Figure2-8)
from the gearselect lever (I). Placethe
wood edgeagainst the edge of the grip
and slowly pull off the grip.
