The advanced ProScan universal remote controls your TV
and up to two compatible Proscan VCRs or any other
brands listed on page 25. The VCR2.LD b utton can also
control a compatible ProScan/RCA laserdisc player.
To control a compatible VCR, first press the VCR1or VCR2.LD
button to put the remote in the "VCR mode". The buttons
shown below will then control the VCR.
Select models of VCRs have a switch that lets you determine which
VCR will be controlled by the vcm button, and which VCR by the VCR2
button. Other models have an on-screen menu that lets you determine if
it will be controlled by veal or VCR2.Some older VCRs have a
NORM/UNIFIED switch that can also respond to either the VCR1 o r VCR2
button on the remote. Place this switch in the UNIFIED p osition for the
VCR to respond to the VCR1 b utton or in the NORM position for the VCR2
button. In the NORM position, you must program the VCR2 b utton to
respond to code number 05.
The buttons shown below do not operate all functions on all
VCRs. You may only be able to control your VCR's basic
functions.
Remote Buttons That Control ProScan VCRs
POWER
BUTTON Prcss to turn off VCR.
PLAY BUTTON
Press to start tape playing.
REWIND BUrtONPress while VCR is
stopped to rewind tape. Press while
VCR is playing to search backward. In
VCR2.LDmode this button backward
scans a laserdisk.
RECORD BUII'0NPress to record. It is not
neecssary to press PLAYand RECORD.
DISPLAY BUrtONPress to display VCR's
on-screen mcssages.
NUMBER BUFrONS
Press two numbers to
select VCR channel. On some brands,
press a "0" before a single-digit channel
number.
CLEAR B UIIONis used when setting thc
VCR's clock and programming its
timer.
PROGRAM BUTTON is
used when setting
clock and programming the timer.
VCR! AND VCR2 BUTTONS Press to turn on
VCR and put remote in "VCR Mode" so
other buttons will control the VCR. Press
the mYbutton to put remote back into "TV
Mode".
ITTONPress while VCR is
stopped to fast forward tape. Press while
VCR is playing to search forward. In
VCR2,LD
mode this button forward scans a
laserdisk.
PAUSE BUI-I'0N
Press to pause
PLAY or
RECORDmode. Press again to releasc
pause.
STOP BU'I-rON
Press to stop whatever VCR
is doing: playing, recording, rewinding,
or fast forwarding.
CHANNEL UP OR DOWN BU'I-rONS
Press to select
next higher or lower channel in VCR's
channel memory.
ANTENNA BUnON Press to change TVNCR
switch on VCR to other position.
