Configure Ethernet Events

To configure Ethernet events for all managed products, you can enable notification and
configure the Ethernet event timeout period through the HP EFC Manager. An Ethernet
event is when the Ethernet link between the HP EFC server and the managed product is
dropped. You can set a specific time interval for an event to be generated after the
communication drops.
1. From the Maintenance menu, choose Configure Ethernet Events.
The Configure Ethernet Events dialog box displays (Figure 61).

2. To enable Ethernet events, click the Enable Ethernet Events check box.
3. To change the default timeout of 30 minutes, enter a new value in the Ethernet Timeout
box. The value must be between 10 and 120.
4. Click Activate to accept and activate the data.
If e-mail notification is also enabled, an e-mail will be sent if the HP EFC Manager cannot
communicate with a product.
If call-home notification is also enabled, a call home will be generated if the HP EFC
Manager cannot communicate with a product.
