Accessing a Product Manager

There are two ways to access a product's Product Manager through the Product View:

Click the product icon.
•
Right-click the product icon and choose Open.
The Product Manager provides in-depth management and monitoring functions for
individual Fibre Channel devices. The Product Manager Hardware View provides views of
hardware components and includes component status. Through these views, you can
quickly manage and monitor the Fibre Channel devices on your network.
Through a Product Manager, you can:
•
Configure the device name, location, description, and contact person.
•
Monitor the operational status of a managed device and its components.
•
Perform other configuration and monitoring tasks specific to the type of Product
Manager.
Note A maximum of eight remote users (in addition to the local HP EFC server user)
can concurrently access Product Managers for a specific product.
A Product Manager's navigation control panel functions like the navigation control panel in
the HP EFC Manager. The Product Manager also has an alert panel with alert status colors
and symbols that are identical to those in the HP EFC Manager.
The HP EFC Manager and Fabric Manager windows are still available as separate windows
when a Product Manager is open. You can drag the Product Manager window away from
the HP EFC Manager window and view both on your desktop. You can also minimize each
window.
To return to the HP EFC Manager, choose Close from the Close menu in the Product
Manager.
