A~ACHMENTS
AND CONNECTIONS
If desired, you can connect either an answering machine or an extension phone to
your fax.
Connecting an answering machine to the fax as shown below will allow you to
receive both voice and fax messages on the same line while you are out, For
details on using this feature, see Chapter 4.
An extension phone connected to the same line as your fax can be used to
make and receive calls. For details on receiving faxes from an extension phone,
see "Receiving Documents" in Chapter 3.
insert one end of the answering ma-
chine or extension phone line either into
the socket on the back side of the adap-
tor (if available), or into the socket
marked "TEL S~" on the fax (first re-
move the seal from the socket).
Important: In New Zealand, not all
standard telephones and answering
machines will respond to incoming
ringing when connected to the extension
socket of the equipment.
Important: When connecting an
answering machine, make sure the line
plug is inserted into the answerina
machine's telephone line socket,-not its
telephone socket.
Note: This type of connection
requires an FO-80TP adaptor.
