Operating Easytron ic with the
selector lever
Always mov e the selector lev er all the way
in the c hosen direction. Ob serve the gear
or mode indicator in the transmission
display.

Neutra l.
Starting the engine
The engine ca n only be started when the
selector lever is in N and the footbrak e is
depressed. "N" ap pears in the tra nsmission
display. If the footbrake is not depressed ,
"N " flashes in the transm ission d isplay and
the engine will not start.
If no brak e lights are op erational, the
engine will not sta rt.
Selec tor lever in o (centre positi on)
After movement of the selector lever from
N to position o (centre position) while the
footbrake is depressed, Easytronic is in
autom atic m od e and first gear is engag ed.
"A" app ears in the transmission display.
After the footbrake is released, the vehicle
begins to "creep" . If the footbrak e is not
depressed , "A" fla shes. Start off by
immed iately depressing the a ccelerator
pedal or m ov e the selector lev er back to N
and repeat the procedure with the
footbrake depressed.
In autom atic mode, the transm ission shifts
into other gears automatically based on
driving conditions.
In manual mode, a gear c an be selected
manually by tapping the selector lever to
+ -
the or position. The transmission d isplay
indica tes the current g ear.
If the engine speed is too low the Easytronic
will automatically shift to a lower g ear even
in Manua l mode. This prevents the engine
from stalling.

S hift to a higher gear.

S hift to a low er gear.
If a hig her gear is selected when the
running speed is too low, or a lower gear
when the speed is too high, no shift is
effected. This p revents the engine from
running at too low or too hig h revs.
Gears can be sk ip ped by jogging the
selector lever repeatedly a t short intervals.
When the vehicle is in autom atic mode,
Easy tronic shifts to manual m ode when the
selector lever is tapped to position
The tra nsmission display indica tes the
current gear.
Selector lev er in A/M
S witc h between Automatic and Manua l
mode.
Selector lev er in R
Reverse gear. Engage only when the
vehicle is stationary . Press the button on
the selector lever a nd select R. The
transmission displa y will show "R".
If R is selected when the vehicle is in motion,
"R" flashes in the transmission display and
no gear is engaged.
