Pollen filter

The pollen filter cleans the air entering from
outside and filters dust, soot, pollen and
spores from the interior air if the air
recirculation sy stem 3 is activ e. The active
carbon la yer 3 eliminates most odours and
harmful ambient gases from the a ir.
Hav e the pollen filter replaced at the
intervals spec ified in the S ervice Booklet.

Note

If the windscreen is misted due to damp
weather, tem pora rily set the sy stem as
described und er "Window demisting" .
Settings - see pages 106, 109.
Cooling 3 functions most efficiently when
the windows and sun roof 3 are closed. If
the passenger compartment has heated
up considerably after a long period in
direct sunlight, briefly open the w indows
and sun roof 3 so that the hot a ir can
escape quickly.
When cooling 3 (air conditioning
compressor) is switched on condensation
forms, which is expelled from the underside
of the vehic le.
At least one air vent must be open w hile
cooling 3 (air conditioning com pressor) is
on in order to prev ent the ev aporator from
icing up due to lack of air m ov ement.

Maintenance

In order to ensure consistently good
operation of the AC comp ressor 3 , it must
be opera ted sev eral m inutes once per
month irrespec tiv e of the wea ther or
season. It is not possible to operate the AC
compressor 3 when outside tem peratures
are low.
