Handb rake
Always app ly handbrake firm ly. O n slopes
apply the handbrake as firmly as possible.
The m echanical handbrake acts on the
brakes on the rea r wheels. It engag es
automatically when applied.
To release the handbrak e pull the lever up
slig htly , press the ratchet knob, a nd fully
lower the lev er.
In order to reduce the handbrak e
opera tional forces, depress the footbrake
at the sam e tim e.
Brake system c ontrol indic ator R
The control indica tor illuminates w hen the
ignition is switc hed on if the ha ndb ra ke is
applied or if the brake or clutc h fluid level is
too low. Brake fluid - see page 186.

If the control indicator illum ina tes when
the handbrake is not applied : Stop.
Interrupt your journey imm ediately.
