Weights, payload and roof load

The p ayload is the difference between
the p ermitted gross vehicle w eight (see
identification plate, page 196) and the EC
kerb weight.
To calculate the kerb weight, enter the
data for y our vehicle below:

z Weight of heavy
accessories from Table 2,
page 204
The total
is the EC k erb w eight.
O ptional equipment and accessories
increase the kerb weight, which m eans that
the p ayload will also change slig htly.
Note the weights given in the vehicle
documents and the identification plate.
The combined total of front a nd rear ax le
loa ds must not exceed the perm issible
gross vehicle weight. For exa mple, if
the front axle is b earing its max imum
permissib le load, the rear axle can only
bear a load that is eq ua l to the gross
vehicle weig ht m inus the front axle load.
The permissible axle loads must not be
exc eeded.

Roof loa d
The permissib le roof load is 100 kg - 75 kg
for the C ombo with roof rails. The roof load
consists of the weight of the roof ra ck plus
the loa d carried .
