Catalytic converter for diesel
engines
Damag e to the catalytic converter or the
vehic le ma y result if the following points
are not ob served:
z Consult a w ork shop, such as your
Vauxhall Authorised Rep airer, as q uick ly
as possible in the ev ent of irregular
engine running, a signific ant loss of
engine p ow er or other unusual
malfunctions. If necessary , driving m ay
be c ontinued for a short time at a low
speed and with a low engine speed.
Controlling exhaust em ission
Through d esign-related measures – mainly
in the area of the fuel-injection and ignition
sy stems – the prop ortion of noxious
materials in the exhaust, suc h as carbon
monox ide (C O), hy drocarbons (HC ) and
nitrogen oxides (NO ), is reduced to a
x
minim um .

C ont rol indic ator Z for exha ust
Illuminates when the ig nition is switched on
and d uring the start attempt. Goes off
shortly after the engine starts running.
If it illuminates w hile the engine running
there is a fault in the emission control
system. The permitted emission values may
be exceeded. C onsult a workshop
imm ediately. We recomm end y our
Vauxhall Authorised Repairer.
