188 Maintenance, Inspection System
The windscreen wash sy stem remains frost-
free in winter:

Solvent: Water
– 5 °C
– 10 °C
– 20 °C
– 30 °C
When closing the reserv oir, press the lid
firmly over the beaded edge all the way
round.

Battery

The battery is maintenance-free.
We recommend that you entrust battery
rep lacement to a Vauxhall Authorised
Repairer, who will be familiar with the
req uirements of the law as regards
disposal of used batteries and can thus
help to protect the environment and your
hea lth.
Retro-fitted electrical or electronic
accessories can place an add itional load
on the battery or even discharge the
battery. We recommend that you consult a
Vauxhall Authorised Repairer regarding
technical possibilities, such as fitting a
more powerful battery.

Warning
Parking the vehicle for more than 4 week s
can lead to b attery d ischarging. This may
reduc e the service life of the battery.
Disconnect battery from on-board power
supply by disconnecting the negative
term ina l.
The Vaux hall alarm system 3 siren m ust b e
deactivated as follow s: switch the ignition
on then off, disconnect the vehicle's
battery within 15 seconds.
Ensure that ig nition is switched off before
connecting ba ttery. Then perform the
following actions:
z Set date and time in information
displa y - see pag e 33.
z If necessary, activate window
electronics 3. See pa ge 99.
In order to prev ent the battery from
discharging, some consumers such as the
courtesy light automatically sw itc h off
after approx. 30 minutes.
