Maintenance and inspection of the sewing machine
should only be carried out by qualified personnel.
Ask your Brother dealer or a qualified electrician to
carry out any maintenance and inspection of the
electrical system.
If any safety devices have been removed, be abso-
lutely sure to re-install them to their original posi-
tions and check that they operate correctly before
using the machine.
Die Wartung und Inspektion darf nur durch einen
qualifizierten Fachmann ausgeführt werden.
Wenden Sie sich für die Wartung und Inspektion des
elektrischen Systems an Ihren Brother-Händler oder
an einen qualifizierten Elektriker.
Falls Sicherheitsvorrichtungen entfernt wurden,
müssen sie unbedingt wieder in den ursprünglichen
Positionen montiert werden. Kontrollieren Sie vor
der Inbetriebnahme die Sicherheitsvorrichtungen
auf richtige Funktion.

S'adresser à un concessionnaire Brother ou à un
électricien qualifié pour effectuer des travaux
d'entretien ou de vérification du système électrique.
Si des dispositifs de sécurité ont été déposés, veiller
absolument à les remettre à leur place initiale et
vérifier qu'ils fonctionnent correctement avant
d'utiliser la machine.

Turn off the power switch and disconnect the power
cord from the wall outlet at the following times, oth-
erwise the machine may operate if the treadle is
depressed by mistake, which could result in injury.
• When carrying out inspection, adjustment and
maintenance
• When replacing consumable parts such as the
rotary hook
* When using a clutch motor, the motor will keep
turning even after the power is switched off as a
result of the motor's inertia. Wait until the motor
stops fully before starting work.
If the power switch needs to be left on when carry-
ing out some adjustment, be extremely careful to
observe all safety precautions.
Schalten Sie in den folgenden Fällen zuerst den
Netzschalter aus oder ziehen Sie den Netzstecker aus
d e r S t e c k d o s e . We n n d i e M a s c h i n e n i c h t
a u s g e s c h a l t e t w i r d , k a n n s i e s i c h d u r c h
unbeabsichtigtes Drücken des Pedals in Bewegung
setzen und Verletzungen verursachen.
• Zum Ausführen von Inspektionen, Einstellungen
und Wartungsarbeiten
• Zum Austauschen von abgenutzten Teilen, wie des
Drehgreifers
* Bei Verwendung eines Kupplungsmotors dreht
sich der Motor wegen der Trägheit auch nach dem
Ausschalten weiter. Warten Sie deshalb bis der
Motor zum vollständigen Stillstand gekommen ist,
bevor Sie zu arbeiten beginnen.
Falls der Netzschalter für gewisse Einstellungen
eingeschaltet sein muß, müssen Sie mit größter
S o r g f a l t , u n t e r s t r e n g e r B e a c h t u n g d e r
Sicherheitshinweise vorgehen.
Mettre l'interrupteur d'alimentation sur la position
d'arrêt et débrancher le cordon d'alimentation de la
prise murale aux moments suivants, sinon la ma-
chine risquera de se mettre en marche si on relâche
accidentellement sur la pédale, et donc de causer
des blessures.
• Lorsqu'on effectue des travaux de vérification, de
réglage ou d'entretien
• Lorsqu'on remplace des pièces accessoires telles
que le crochet rotatif
* Lorsqu'on utilise un moteur à embrayage, le
moteur continuera de tourner même après qu'on
ait coupé l'alimentation électrique en raison de
l'inertie du moteur. Attendre que le moteur se soit
complètement arrêté avant de commencer le tra-
vail.
S'il faut que la machine soit laissée sous tension
pendant qu'on effectue des réglages, veiller à re-
specter scrupuleusement toutes les précautions de
sécurité.
