When a disk configuration definition file or a copy group definition file is updated from P9000
Replication Manager, a temporary file is created. After the file is successfully updated, the temporary
file is deleted.
Do not create a dataset with the same name as that of a temporary file. The following lists the file
naming conventions for the temporary files:
Name of the temporary file for the disk configuration definition file:
prefix.TMP.SNnnnnn.DAD-ID
Name of the temporary file for the copy group definition file:
prefix.TMP.copy-group-ID
Dataset format and required disk capacity for the configuration file
For details about the dataset format and the required disk capacity, see the descriptions for the
configuration file in the HP StorageWorks P9000 for Business Continuity Manager Software User
Guide.
NOTE:
When you estimate the required disk capacity, allow for no less than three times the disk
capacity required for each dataset, to provide enough disk capacity for backup files and temporary
files.

Setting the TCP/IP Port Number

Before performing this procedure, you need to reserve a port number for communicating with
P9000 Replication Manager.
For a job that starts an Business Continuity Manager agent, set the UNIX service usage attributes
(open a port for receiving). For details, see the Communications Server: IP Configuration Reference.
Set the port number in the TCP/IP environment settings file (PROFILE.TCPIP profile, the definition
file related to server functions in the TCP/IP address space).
In the PORT definition of the PROFILE.TCPIP profile, specify the member name, or the
identification name, of the Business Continuity Manager agent start job. For details about the
identification name, see the chapter that describes Business Continuity Manager agent startup in
the HP StorageWorks P9000 for Business Continuity Manager Software User Guide.
For the port number to be used by the YKAGENT job, you cannot specify a number that is already
being used by another job. Specify a port number that is not being used in the system.
Example of specifying the port number:
The following specification sets the port number as 24042:
24042 TCP YKAGENT ;YKAGENT START NAME
NOTE:
The Business Continuity Manager agent requires 2 sockets of IBM Communications Server
(OS standard equipment). Make sure that the total number of sockets does not exceed the upper
limit of the number of sockets of IBM Communications Server, considering the number of sockets
for other services handled by the latter. For details about the upper limit for the number of sockets
of IBM Communications Server, see the Communications Server IP Configuration Guide.

Setting Up the Security for Business Continuity Manager Agents

This section describes how to set the security.

Setting the Dataset Security

When a Business Continuity Manager agent is linked to P9000 Replication Manager, the agent
job references Business Continuity Manager's configuration files. So, be sure to grant the Business
Continuity Manager agent job READ permission for the configuration files that are accessed by
