type in the path to the Winmodem files,
instead.)
You will see a screen displaying the
directory the Winmodem files will be
installed in. Click OK to continue.
Click OK on the screen confirming that
backups have been made of your Windows
system files.
When you see the screen on the right,
choose one of the COM ports labeled
Free and then click OK.

The next screen will ask you to restart
Windows. Click OK to restart Windows.
When Windows restarts, you will see the
screen on the next page.
Note:
if your system is Plug and
Play capable, Windows may
automatically configure your modem. In
that case, you will not see any of the
Configuration screens on the following
two pages.
