Scanning Documents with different Widths

When you scan a stack of documents with different widths by using the ADF, the smaller sized
documents may be scanned skewed or the scanner may not pick them. Try to scan only documents
of the same width together.
However, if you need to scan a stack of documents with different widths, follow the procedure
below.
1. To prevent skewed images, select the [Automatic Page Size Detection] from the
"Automatic Size and Skew Detection". (For details, refer to "2.9 Correcting skewed
Documents" on page 50.)
2. Align the stack so that documents of a smaller width are placed in the center of the
stack.
3. Load the stack of documents onto the ADF paper chute and move the side guides so
that they contact both sides of the widest sheet.
ATTENTION
4. Scan the documents by refering to "1.3 Scanning Documents" on page 10.

When loading the stack of document onto the scanner, be sure that all
documents do contact the pick roller. If this is not the case, documents not
contacting the pick roller might not be fed into the scanner.
