BladeCenter QS22 Type 0793: Problem Determination and Service Guide
Description
LSI Integrated RAID disk size requests
reported inconsistent values. The error
might be due to connectivity, SAS
switches, BladeCenter S local SAS
disk, hardware, blade firmware, or SAS
Expansion Card firmware problems.
Action
1.
Try to boot an operating system
and acess the LSI Integrated RAID
disks using that operating system's
tools (for example, CFGGEN). This
verifies the LSI Integrated RAID
operation. Pay attention to the tools
output and operating system
diagnostic messages.
2.
Ensure the operation of the entire
SAS topology in the BladeCenter S
unit. This includes checking any
SAS switches, Storage Modules,
hard drives, and so on. See the
documentation that comes with
each component of the SAS
topology.
3. Reboot the blade.
4. Power down then remove and
reinstall the blade server in the
BladeCenter unit.
5. Remove and reinstall the SAS
Expansion Card.
6. Ensure the SAS Expansion Card
firmware and blade firmware
version are at the correct level.
7. If the error started after a SAS
Expansion Card firmware upgrade
or a blade server firmware
upgrade, consider a rollback to the
previous firmware versions. Check
with the documentation at
http://www.ibm.com/systems/
bladecenter/support/ to verify
whether rollback is possible.
8. Plug the SAS expansion card into
another blade server. If the problem
persists, the SAS Expansion Card
may need replacement.
9.
Plug a different SAS expansion
card into the blade server. If the
problem persists, the blade server
system board may need
replacement.
