Assigning IP Address With ARP

1. From Windows, enter the MS/DOS box. At the command prompt enter:
(a) ping [any valid IP address on your network - not the print server].
The identified unit should reply.
(b) arp -s [IP address of the NC-2 Print Server] and [MAC Address].
The entry should be accepted.
(c) ping [IP address of the NC-2 Print Server].
Request should time out.
2. Recycle the power on the printer, or let the NC-2 Print Server reset itself.
The NC-2 Print Server will produce a status page that should include the
entered IP address.
3. When the NC-2 Print Server is up again, at the command prompt, enter:
ping [IP address of the NC-2 Print Server]
Continue until you get a reply.
NOTE: This only enters the IP address. Use the ntBOOTP Program or any standard Internet
Web Browser to change the IP parameters.

Setting up lpr on the Workstation

Once the spooler is installed on the workstation, the setup program will
create a group and icon.
1. Double click on the spooler icon.
2. Click on setup, and define a new queue.
3. For Remote Host Name, enter the IP Address; for Remote Printer Name,
enter PORT1. You should be able to print via the spooler.
4. Go to Settings.
5. Select Printers.
6. Choose Add Printer.
7. Click on Next.
8. Select your driver, and click on Next.
At this point, you should see an entry for your Windows lpr Spooler's
printer in the "Available ports" listing displayed as, for example:
C:\SPOOL\PRINTER_NAME
