Multi-pin Connector Identification
Multi-pin connectors mate with groups of pins soldered
to circuit boards. Pin number 1 is indexed with a triangular
mark on the circuit board and molded on the holder of the
multi-pin connector, as shown in Fig. 5-3.
lnterface Connector Pin Locations
The lnterface circuit board couples the plug-in unit to the
associated mainframe (oscilloscope). Figure 5-4 identifies
the pins on the interface connector as shown on the main
lnterface diagram in the Diagrams and Circuit Board Illustra-
tions section.

Performance Check
The Performance Check procedure, given in Section 4 of
this manual, provides a quick and convenient means of
checking instrument operation. In some cases, minor trou-
bles may be revealed or corrected by adjustment.

Recommended Tektronix types: 576 Curve Tracer,
5771177 Curve Tracer system, 7CTlN Curve Tracer unit
and a 7000-series oscilloscope system, or a 5CTlN Curve
Tracer unit and a 5000-series oscilloscope.
Multimeter
Description: Voltmeter, 10 MQ input impedance and a
range of 0 to at least 50 V dc; accuracy, within 0.1%. Ohm-
meter, 0 to 20 MQ. Test probes should be insulated to pre-
vent accidental shorting.
TROUBLESHOOTING EQUIPMENT
Purpose: Check voltage and resistance.
The following equipment, in addition to that listed in the
Performance Check section, is useful for troubleshooting.
Test Oscilloscope
Transistor Tester
Description: Dynamic-type tester.
Description: Frequency response, dc to 50 MHz mini-
mum; deflection factor 1 mV to 5 Vldiv. A 1 OX, 10 MQ volt-
age probe should be used to reduce circuit loading.
Purpose: Test semiconductors
Purpose: Check operating waveforms.
