g. Set the front-panel INTENSITY control to 10:OO and
adjust the Main Trig Level to trigger the trace.
h. ADJUST-the Auto Focus Bias (R306) fully clock-
wise. The trace should defocus.
i. ADJUST-R306 counterclockwise until the trace just
comes into focus.
j. Set the front-panel INTENSITY control to 3:OO.
k. ADJUST-the Auto Focus Gain (R304) clockwise un-
til the trace just focuses.
I. Return the front-panel INTENSITY control to the nor-
mal viewing level.

m. Remove the Pulser and install the amplifier unit.
Fully counterclockwise
1. Adjust Focus and Astigmatism
n. Set the input coupling to DC, MODE to CH 1 and
Trigger to CH
1.
a. Set the INTENSITY control for a normal viewing level.
o. Set the time-base Main SecIDiv to 1 ms.
b. Set the time-base Main SecIDiv switch to Amp (fully
counterclockwise).
2. Adjust Trace Alignment
c. Preset the Auto Focus Bias (R306) and Auto Focus
Gain (R304) adjustments counterclockwise (see Fig. 4-3). a. Position the trace to center horizontal graticule line.
d. ADJUST-The Focus Preset (R396) on the HV board, b. CHECK-That the trace is aligned with the center
and the Astigmatism (R370) on the Horizontal board for the horizontal graticule line.

e. Set the Main SecIDiv to .1 bsec.
c. ADJUST-ROTATION (Trace) R375 to align the trace
with the center horizontal graticule line (located on rear
panel).
f. Set the Amplitude fully clockwise and position the top
of the trace to the center of the screen. d. Press the POWER switch to turn off the oscilloscope.
