Connection
Short for network connection, describes either the connection the
computer has to the network, or individual connections made to
remote hosts from the local computer, or from remote hosts to the
local computer. For TCP this corresponds to a "TCP connection", for
the other TCP/IP protocols it is used as a convenient term for all the
datagrams that belong to the same communication session.
Corrupted
Data that has been modified without the user's authorization or
approval.
Data miner
A data miner is a program that can collect information how you
browse and use web sites, including data gathered from forms you fill
and submit to different web sites. Usually data miners work without
your knowledge.
Denial-of-Service (DoS) attack
An explicit attempt by attackers to prevent legitimate users of a
service from using that service by disrupting connections, "flooding" a
network or preventing a particular individual from accessing the
network.
Disinfection Wizard
A user interface dialog that guides the user through virus disinfection.
The Disinfection Wizard appears on local user interface in case a
virus is found.
Domain Name
A unique name that identifies an Internet site (for example,
F-Secure.com)
DNS
The domain name system (DNS) is the way that Internet domain
names are located and translated into Internet Protocol addresses. A
domain name is a meaningful and easy-to-remember "handle" for an
Internet address. The Internet address www.some.domain.org is an
example of a DNS name.
