How Settings Inheritance is Displayed on the User
Interface
There inherited settings and settings that have been redefined on the
current level are displayed in a different way on the Policy Manager user
interface:
Not
Inherited
inherited
Clear
A closed lock means that the user cannot
change the setting, because it has been
defined as final.
If the lock symbol is blue, the setting has
been redefined on the current level. If the
lock symbol is grey, the setting is inherited.
An open lock symbol means that the user
is allowed to change the setting at the
current level.
If the lock symbol is blue, the setting has
been redefined on the current level. If the
lock symbol is grey, the setting is inherited.
If
Clear
is displayed beside a setting, it
means that the setting has been redefined
on the current level and that it can be
cleared. When the setting is cleared, the
default or inherited value is restored.
If nothing is displayed beside a setting, it
means that the setting is inherited.
