You can also add a descriptive comment for the rule to help you
understand the rule when it is displayed in the Firewall Rules Table.
If you need to make any changes to the rule, click
If you are satisfied with your new rule, click Finish. Your new rule will be
added to the top of the list in the active set of rules on the Firewall Rules
page.
Configure Alert Forwarding
1. Go to the Settings tab and select the Alert Sending window.
2. In the Alert Forwarding section make sure that the security alerts are
forwarded to the Policy Manager Console. If necessary, select the
Security Alert check box in the Policy Manager Console column.
For more information on configuring alert forwarding, see the Policy
Manager Administrator's Guide.
Take the New Rule into Use
1. Make sure that you have the correct subdomain selected in the Policy
Domains tab.
2. Select the Firewall Security levels page on the Settings tab.
3. Set the security level for which you created the rule as the active
security level by selecting it from the Internet Shield Security level at
host drop-down list.
4. Click
to save the policy data.
5. Click
to distribute the policy.
Test the Rule you Created
You can test the rule you just created by pinging one of the managed
hosts in the subdomain from a computer outside of that domain. When
you have done this, you can check that the rule works as follows:
