Configuring VoIP

Overview
Traditional hotel room phone systems usually require dedicated phone lines and devices, which need regular
maintenance and are costly. When adding rooms or functions, the traditional guest room telephone system
requires additional telephone lines and devices to meet the new demand, which increases the complexity of
deployment and costs, and cannot meet the needs of modern hotels for diversified communication functions,
scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) compresses voice signals using compression algorithms and packages them
into IP packets for transmission on the Internet. VoIP reduces communication costs and provides rich functions,
such as call forwarding, voice mail, and multimedia communication, to enhance the customer experience.
With Reyee VoIP gateway and Ruijie Reyee App or Ruijie Cloud, VoIP system construction and quick
deployment and acceptance can be achieved in hotels and apartments.

Parallel Array Connection
On a VoIP network, the RG-APF series supports parallel array connection for connecting VoIP phones. This
means that multiple VoIP phones (up to three) can be connected to the SC port of an RG-APF access point.
The parallel array connection is shown in
A user can use a VoIP phone connected to the same RG-APF access point in parallel array connection to make
voice calls to another VoIP phone connected to another RG-APF access point. For example, phones 1, 2, and
