Appendix B
System Board Settings
This appendix provides jumper setting information for configuring your system for a
particular system requirement. Situations that require changing the jumper settings include
the following:
n
upgrading the processor
n
resetting your password
n
BIOS recovery
n
clearing the system board CMOS values and restoring the default settings
n
denying access to CMOS Setup
The system board in your computer contains a 30-pin block of configuration jumpers in a
2 x 15 array.
NOTE: The clear CMOS jumper is intended to
be used only if the BIOS has been corrupted
during a BIOS upgrade. A description of how to
use the jumper is found later in this section under
"BIOS Recovery."
CAUTION: Jumpers are set correctly at the factory
for your configuration.
If your system requires a jumper change, change
only the setting for that condition. Otherwise,
keep the settings at their factory settings.
