CHANGING SWITCH SETTINGS
To change system board switch settings, use the following
procedure. A label showing SW4 information is inside the
system unit. The label provides a quick reference for switch
settings.
CAUTION: If system conditions require clearing
CMOS, see the following section, "Clearing CMOS."
Turn off and unplug the system and any external

options.
WARNING: The system power must be off before
changing a switch setting.
2.
Remove the system unit cover (see Chapter 7).
3.
Locate SW4 on the system board (see the figure earlier
in this chapter).
You may have to remove any installed expansion boards
to access SW4 (see "Board Removal" in Chapter 7).
Change the appropriate switch setting using a ball-point
pen. Check that the setting is correct.

If you removed any expansion boards, replace them (see
"Board Installation" in Chapter 7).
5.
Replace the system unit cover (see Chapter 7).
6.
Plug in system and peripheral cables and turn on the
system.
7.
Run the Setup and ECU utility (see Chapters 3 and 4).
