2.6.1

Notes for the European Economic Area

2.6.2

Production of own target wheels

A reference mark can cause an imbalance, which can lead to increased vibrations in
the critical speed range at high speeds.
● Correct the imbalance by fitting counter weights or balancing holes.
2.6.3

Selection of suitable target wheels

At high speeds and with a large target wheel, high centrifugal forces act on the outer
gear ring. In addition, vibrations occur in the machine. The speed at which critical vi-
brations occur for the target wheel depends on the size and module of the target
wheel and the machine conditions.
● Ensure that the target wheel complies with the permissible air gap tolerances in
the speed range used. Take into account any radial runout that may occur.
● Ensure that the target wheel does not reach the critical speed.
2.6.4

Observing thermal expansion coefficients

Critical air gap changes can occur with large temperature fluctuations and different
thermal expansion coefficients of the target wheel and the mounting fixture.
● Ensure that the air gap is within the permissible range under all operating condi-
tions (air gap table

Power supply cable

With long cables, a voltage drop in the cable can result in the supply voltage at the
MiniCODER no longer being within the required voltage range.
● Observe the voltage drop
