Monitor function: Push and hold [ @ ] to listen to weak sig-
nals that do not open the squelch; or push [ @ ] twice to mon-
itor a signal without having to continuously hold [ ].
Squelch control: The transceiver employs a noise pulse
count system and therefore, squelch is adjusted automatically
when "AUto" is selected for the squelch level:
Push [SQL], then push [4]/[¥] one or more times until "AUto"
appears. Manual levels from "Sql 1" to "Sql 8" are also avail-
able to suit personal preferences and operating conditions.

@ Lock function
The lock function prevents accidental frequency changes and
accidental function activation. By default, [p L] toggles this
function on and off.
Push [p L] for 1 sec. to toggle the function on and off.
¢"gr=O" appears while the lock func-
tion is activated.
e([PTT], [PWR/VOL] and [ @ ]can be
used regardless of this setting.
