Coax-Ethernet Adapter MCA1001 User Manual
Table 4-1. Troubleshooting Tips (continued)
Problem
The signal on the TV is impaired
after connection to the coax-
ethernet adapter.
An amplifier is Installed to boost
weak signal.
4-2
Action
• Test the TV by connecting it directly, not through the coax-ethernet
adapter. If it is still impaired, contact your TV service provider.
• Confirm that the coax-ethernet adapter is installed correctly and that all
cables are connected.
• install an external splitter to connect to the cable wall outlet and
connect the coax-ethernet adapter and TV to the splitter. Do not
connect the TV to the Coax OUT connector on the coax-ethernet
adapter.
• The typical amplifier cannot pass a coax-ethernet adapter signal
because they are unidirectional. The amplifier should be uninstalled or
bypassed, if possible.
• To bypass an amplifier, install diplexers to separate the coax-ethernet
adapter and any other signal first. Then, only install the amplifier for the
path of the signal that is not intended for a coax-ethernet adapter.
