WARNING !
QIFD 0010 - QIFD 0080
52401-100, December 2000
• Before opening the lid (Reference Number 1,"Condensate Drain Parts
List," Fig. 2.4, page 11) disconnect the unit from electrical power supply.
• Do not assemble in explosive conditions and with inflammable or
explosive media.
• Do not use test button for continuous draining.
• Conic bolts destroy the 3/4 inlet thread.
Function
Condensate drips from the top opening into the drain. The diaphragm is
closed by the system pressure to its rear side. As soon as the level sensor
is contacted, the round anchor plate is lifted by the magnet, the rear side
can depressurize, and the system pressure pushes out the condensate.
After a certain time the anchor plate drops again and the system pres-
sure closes the diaphragm.
A minimum pressure of 30 psig is required to safely and automati-
cally drain the condensate receiver. When the condensate receiver has
filled, the capacitive level sensor opens the solenoid valve and the con-
densate is discharged.
Upon emptying the receiver, the condensate outlet closes before any
compressed air/gas can escape. The sensor controlled drain is equipped
with a red LED that will begin to flash 60 seconds after a drain pipe
blockage is detected or the pressure required to operate the drain falls
below 30 psig. The solenoid valve will open every 4 minutes for 7.5 sec-
onds until the blockage is cleared or the required pressure is attained.
Malfunction
A flashing LED means malfunction.
opens, the drain releases periodically until the level sensor is dry. Then
the drain returns automatically to normal operation.
If malfunction repeats, service the drain per instructions in this manual
or refer to our service department.
Pipe the condensate drain to provide for safe discharge of con-
densate under pressure.
