A strange odor may indicate decomposition of refrigerant due to over-
heating:
• Ventilate and evacuate room immediately
• Use a class B breathing filter mask if reentering the contaminated
area.
• Remove victim from contaminated area and provide fresh air.
• Eyes splashed with refrigerant must be rinsed with plenty of water.
Do not wipe with a cloth!
• If the victim is not breathing, perform mouth-to-mouth resuscitation or
use a respirator until medical personnel arrive.
• Inform medical personnel that the accident involved refrigerants. See
identification plate for refrigerant type.
• Never leave the victim unattended.
