About This Manual
This manual is written for system integrators, IT technicians, and knowledgeable end users.
It provides information for the installation and use of the X13DEG-M motherboard.
About This Motherboard
The Supermicro X13DEG-M supports dual 5th/4th Gen. Intel® Xeon® Scalable/ Intel Xeon
Max Series processors (in Socket E LGA 4677) with four UPIs (20/16 GT/s max.) and a
thermal design power (TDP) of up to 350 W. Built with the Intel C741 chipset, the X13DEG-M
supports up to 8 TB 3DS RDIMM/RDIMM DDR5 ECC memory with speeds up to 5600/4800
MT/s (1DPC) or 4400 MT/s (2DPC) in 32 DIMM slots. This motherboard features superior
I/O expandability and flexibility, including six ExaMax connecters for eight PCIe 5.0 x 16
connections, eight ExaMAX connectors for GPU system, four MCIO x8 connectors for
eight PCIe 5.0 x4 NVMe connections, four MCIO x8 connectors for side switch boards, two
SlimSAS x4 connectors for eight SATA 3.0 connections, two PCIe 3.0 x2 NVMe M.2 slots,
and two I/O connectors for either front or rear I/O module. It also offers the most advanced
data protection capability that provides TPM (Trusted Platform Module) and hardware RoT
(Root of Trust) support. The X13DEG-M is optimized for future PCIe specifications with flexible
I/O, networking, storage, and GPU support. It is ideal for use in general purpose servers
with deep learning and HPC (High Performance Computing) applications. Please note that

Note 1: Memory speed depend on the processors used in the system.
Note 2: Be sure to use processors of the same SKU on a multi-processor motherboard.
Note 3: Only TPM 2.0 standard is supported by 5th/4th Gen. Intel Xeon Scalable
Processors.
