Safety Directions

9.1

General Introduction

Description
The following directions should enable the person responsible for the product, and the
person who actually uses the equipment, to anticipate and avoid operational hazards.
The person responsible for the product must ensure that all users understand these direc-
tions and adhere to them.
9.2

Intended Use

Permitted use
The products are intended to be used for the following applications:
• Detection and localization of underground services: cables and metallic pipes.
• Locator 500i, 550i: Detection and localization of a Sonde Transmitter.
• Locator 500i, 550i: Detection and localization of Conductive Rod accessory.
• Locator 550i: Estimation of the depth of an underground service, a Sonde or Conductive
• Locator 500i, 550i with Bluetooth: Data communication with external appliances.
Adverse use
• Use of the product without instruction.
• Use outside of the intended limits.
• Disabling safety systems.
• Removal of hazard notices.
• Opening the product using tools, for example screwdriver, unless this is specifically
