Surround speaker position is designed specifically
for implementation of the Cinema Studio EX modes.
For ()tiler sound fields, speaker position is not so
criticah
Tfiuse sound fields were designed under tile premise
that the surround speakers would be located behind
tile listening position, but presentation remains fairly
cunsistent even with the surruund speakers
positiuned at a rather wide angle. However. if the
speakers are pointing toward the listener from tile
immediate left and right of tile listening position, the
surround effects become uuclenr uuless set to
"SIDE/LO" or "SIDE/HI".
Nevertheless. each listening environment has re:my
variables, such as w:dl reflections. :rod you may
obtain better results using "BEHD/HI" if your
speakers are located high abuve tile listening
position, eve(( if they :ire lucated to tile immediate
left :md right.
Tfierelk_re. although it may result in a setting
contrary to the above explanation, we recummend
that you playback multi ch:mnel surruund encoded
software and select the setting that provides a good
sense of spaciuusness :rod that best succeeds in
furming a cohesive space between the surround
sound from tile surround speakers :rod the sound of
tile front speakers. If you are not sure which sounds
best. select "BEHD/LO" or "BEHD/HI" :rod then
use tile speaker dist:mce parameter :rod speaker level
adjustments to obtain proper balance.
• CRS. FREQ (Speaker crossover
frequency)
Lets you set the bass crossover frequency of
the speakers that have been set to "SMALL"
on the SYSTEM menu. This setup item is only
available when at least one speaker is set to
"SMALL" and the corresponding speaker
indicator flashes on the display.
• DIMMER (Brightness of the
display)
Lets you adjust the brightness in 3 steps.
