18 Chapter 2: Getting started with your Matrox 4Sight XV6 unit

Steps to get started
This section provides instructions on how to get started with your
Matrox 4Sight XV6.
Operating Matrox 4Sight XV6 for the first time
Perform the following steps to operate Matrox 4Sight XV6 for the first time:
1. Connect your display device, keyboard, and mouse to the unit.
For information on where the connectors are found for these devices, refer to the
Connecting peripheral devices section, later in this chapter.
2. Turn the unit on using the power switch on the front panel.
3. Once the unit boots, use the presented drop-down menu to select your language.
Once you have selected the language, you cannot change your selection (you will
have to reinstall the operating system to change the language).
Note that Matrox 4Sight XV6 assumes that your keyboard language is the same
as the language you selected.
4. Verify that your connected devices are operating correctly.
5. Once your devices are operational, you can power down the unit to connect devices
to the motherboard. For information on adding hardware to the
Matrox 4Sight XV6 motherboard, refer to Chapter 3: Cleaning the air filter and
adding devices to Matrox 4Sight XV6.
6. Optionally, mount the unit to your equipment so that it isn't prone to being
knocked off of its surface. For information, see Matrox 4Sight XV6 mounting
section later in this chapter.
7. Connect any required peripheral devices.
