Capturing the Matrox 4Sight XV6 operating system partition for deployment

Capturing the Matrox 4Sight XV6 operating
system partition for deployment
You can capture an image of your Matrox 4Sight XV6's operating system partition
(the operating system, application, and some settings) and then deploy it on
multiple Matrox 4Sight XV6 units. The capture-for-deployment process will save
the image to a capture-for-deployment backup .wim file, while also creating a
rescue USB key so that you can deploy the capture to other Matrox 4Sight XV6
units. The capture-for-deployment backup .wim file does not contain the user
settings and unique ID of the original unit. When you deploy the capture to the
target units and reboot them, Microsoft Windows OOBE will assign them their
own unique ID and allow you to configure their user settings.
To capture an image of your Matrox 4Sight XV6 unit's operating system partition,
you must access your Matrox 4Sight XV6 directly; you cannot perform this task
remotely. To access the unit directly, connect a display device, keyboard, and
mouse to your Matrox 4Sight XV6. For information, refer to Connecting
peripheral devices section, in Chapter 2: Getting started with your
Matrox 4Sight XV6 unit for more information.
To make a capture-for-deployment backup of your Matrox 4Sight XV6, perform
the following steps directly on your Matrox 4Sight XV6:
1. From the Windows Start menu, launch the OSConfig utility. Disable the Unified
Write Filter (UWF) (if it is on), so that you can write to the drive. This option is
found on the Write Filter tab of the OSConfig dialog.
2. Configure your Matrox 4Sight XV6 unit to your required specifications and
ensure that you do not need to make any more changes.
3. Open the OSConfig utility from the Windows Start menu and select the Capture
OS tab; then, click on the Reboot to Audit Mode button. Your
Matrox 4Sight XV6 will reboot in audit mode (administrative mode).
4. When the reboot process completes, the System preparation tool dialog opens.
Click on the Cancel button to close this dialog.
 Note that, when you boot in audit mode, the System preparation tool dialog
opens every time. You can close or ignore this dialog.
