Dividing a rear steering system handlebar
For tandems with a rear steering system, the
handlebar must first be disconnected before the
frame can be divided.
To disconnect the handlebar, follow the steps below:
1.
Use something thin such as a flat screwdriver to
turn the locking pin [A] away.
2.
Then slide the locking pin out of the ball hitch.
3.
Attention! Store the locking pin securely.
4.
The handlebar [B] is no longer locked in place
at this point. You can loosen it by gently
knocking on it from underneath.
5.
Now the frame can be divided.
To reattach the handlebar, follow the steps from
back to front.
Please note! Before cycling, make sure that the ball hitch is securely fastened and locked.
Speed hub co-driver
The main driver can adjust the co-biking of the
co-driver with the speed hub. There are two
positions:
1.
The pedals of the co-driver are moving
together with the pedals of the main
driver. The co-driver has to cycle also.
2.
The pedals of the co-driver move independently of the pedals of the main driver.
The pedals move free and the co-driver cannot cycle.
When steering from the rear, there is a third position. In that position the pedals of the co-
driver move independently of the pedals of the main driver. The co-driver can cycle along
independently.
