cord the complete sweep, set X GAIN to "Cal." and X RANGE to "41, 7". Set X SWEEP
to "Int.". To record a part of the sweep, adjust the X RANGE and GAIN controls, and X
ZERO "Set" as well if necessary.
Select a suitable sweep speed. The sweep may then be initiated by setting the SWEEP
control to "Normal". It may be stopped at any time by switching this control to "Hold",
or reversed by switching it to "Reverse". Depressing SWEEP "Reset" causes it to return
to the start and, in the "Normal" position, to start sweeping again at once. For more in-
formation about the 2308, refer to its Instruction Manual.
4.1 .6. Electrically controlled sweep of 2308 by 2010
To control the X deflection of the Type 2308 X-Y Recorder from the 2010, control cable
AQ 0034 may be connected between FREQUENCY CONTROL VOLTAGE "Out" on the
201 0, and REMOTE 1 on the 2308. Alternatively, a cable made up as in Fig .4.

is suffi-
cient. The SWEEP CONTROL should be set to "Manual", and the Recorder pen will then
follow movements of the 2010 FREQUENCY SCALE pointer.
However, the frequency must be swept manually from the 2010. Recording paper may
be graduated by the user. The range recorded is determined by the choice of settings of
X RANGE, X GAIN and X ZERO "Set".

4.1.7. Electrically controlled sweep of 2010 by 2309
The Type 2309 Two-Channel Level Recorder incorporates a built-in ramp generator
which may be used to sweep the 201 0 frequency in synchronism with the paper throw.
Either linear or logarithmic sweeps may be made. To obtain this mode of control, con-
nect control cable AQ 0034 (Fig.4.8) between FREQUENCY CONTROL VOLTAGE "In"
on the 2010 and REMOTE CONTROL 2 on the 2309, and set SWEEP CONTROL on the
201 0 to
"Ext.
Volt.". Adjust the frequency of the 2010 to correspond with the gradua-
tions on frequency graduated logarithmic recording paper by means of RAMP ADJ. on
the 2309 while the paper is stationary.
For more detailed information about the procedure, refer to the Instruction Manual for
the 2309.
