Turn the two MODULATOR BALANCE controls alternately until a minimum deflec-
tion is obtained on the meter. If may be necessary to turn the OUTPUT SECTION AT-
TENUATOR progressively anticlockwise
.
NOTE: The balance procedure is not affected by the position of the INPUT SECTION
ATIENUATOR switch.
3.1 .6. Filter Sensitivity Adjustments
24
It is necessary to adjust the levels in the filters so that all the filters have the same rela-
tive attenuation at the centre frequency. The procedure is as follows:
1.
Select:
INPUT SECTION ATTENUATOR
OUTPUT SECTION ATIENUATOR
GAIN CONTROL
FREQUENCY RESPONSE
METER AND RECORDER
READ OUT SELECTOR

2.
Adjust the SENS. adjustment of the chosen input, so that the scale pointer aligns
with the reference point on the meter scale (if the scale used does not have a refer-
ence point, it may be convenient to align the pointer with a particular graduation).
3.
Depress the FREQUENCY RESPONSE
"Selective"
push button.
4.
·switch
the SELECTIVITY CONTROL to
"1000Hz".
5.
Position the frequency scale pointer at approx. 1 kHz and turn the frequency incre-
ment knob until a maximum meter deflection is obtained. Then, using the
"1000Hz" FILTER SENSITIVITY ADJUSTMENT potentiometer on the rear panel, ad-
just the level so that the meter pointer again aligns exactly with the reference point
(or with the chosen graduation mark).
