The two instruments will now be synchronised and will provide swept filtered data over
one chart length each time the PAPER DRIVE "Start" button is pressed.
Fig.4.2 is an example of an automatic constant-bandwidth sweep analysis on a logarith-
mic frequency scale.
If linear frequency scanning is required, the starting point is arbitrary, and there are no
frequency markings on the paper to be exactly lined up. For information about frequency
marking, see the additional information in section 4.1 .4 of this Instruction Manual.
4.1.3. Electrically controlled drive of 2307 by 2010

In this mode, the electronic link causes the Level Recorder to act like an X-Y recorder.
The paper drive follows synchronously, in both directions, the position corresponding
with that of the pointer on the 201 0
.
1. Connect the cable AQ 0034 (which is a cable connecting two 8 pin DIN plugs JP
0802, pin 1 to pin 1, pin 2 to pin 2, etc., Fig.4.8) between the X-INPUT socket on
the Level Recorder and the FREQUENCY CONTROL VOLTAGE "Out" socket on the
rear panel of the 2010.
2. Select a chart paper for the Level Recorder. QP 1143 is recommended for logarith-
mic sweeps and QP 11 02 is recommended for linear sweeps.
3. Carry out the instructions given in the Level Recorder Instruction Manual for posi-
tioning the pen
/
stylus over the starting point of the scan.
4. Move the pointer on the 2010 to the start of its frequency scale, i.e., "0,02-0".
5. Select "X-Rec." on the PAPER DRIVE FUNCTION of the Level Recorder and press
the PAPER DRIVE "Start" button. This will cause the paper drive to start and stop
again after a short distance.
6.
Using a small screwdriver, such as the polar pin provided with the Level Recorder,
adjust the
X-RECORDING
"Zero" potentiometer until the 20Hz line on the chart
falls directly below the pen/stylus.
7. Move the pointer on the 2010 to some mid-point on its scale. This will cause the
paper drive to move forward and halt again.
8. Using the small screwdriver, adjust the X-RECORDING "Sensitivity" potentiometer
until the pen/stylus is approximately above the point on the chart corresponding
with the 2010 pointer position.
9.
Move the pointer on the 2010 to the end of its frequency range, i.e., "20-20".
This will cause the paper drive to move forward and halt again.
10. Using the small screwdriver, adjust the X-RECORDING "Sensitivity" potentiometer
until the 20kHz line on the chart falls directly below the pen/stylus.
11. Repeat steps

to 1 0 remembering always to adjust up to the required point on the
chart. To ensure this, rotate the PAPER ADJUSTMENT wheel backwards a little afte·r
each adjustment. This removes any backlash in the synchronisation.
12. Select the required filtering characteristics on the 2010.
