is determined by the settings on the 2010 screwdriver operated switch OVERLOAD AND
FREQUENCY MARKING (see section 2.2). An example is shown in Fig.4.5, which is a
harmonic analysis of a mains supply. The event marking pen on the Level Recorder
marks out a linear frequency scale.
The event marker pen is actuated in a similar manner if the "Overload" marking facility
is selected on the 201 0. In this case, the event marker indicates points in the scan
where the 201 0 has overloaded.
4.1 .5. Electrically controlled sweep of 2010 by 2308

The Type 2308 X-Y Recorder features a built-in sweep generator which may be used to
sweep the pen (usually on the X axis) and the 2010 frequency. A control cable made up
as shown in Fig.4.6 should be connected between FREQUENCY CONTROL VOLTAGE
"In" on the 2010 and REMOTE 2 on the 2308. Alternatively B & K control cable AQ
0034 may be used with the unwanted connections broken. Set the SWEEP CONTROL
on the 2010 to "Ext. Volt." and locate a sheet of recording paper in the 2308. For three-
decade logarithmic frequency sweeps, graduated paper QP 1000 is suitable. Otherwise
the paper may be graduated before taking the recording. The 2010 frequency can now
be swept under the full control of the sweep generator on the 2308.
To set the starting point of the pen on the 2308, set the SWEEP to "Hold" and depress
"Reset". Use X ZERO "Set" to position the pen over the starting frequency mark on the
paper, and adjust RAMP SET to obtain the same starting frequency on the FREQUENCY
DISPLAY of the 2010. The 0 to 1 OV ramp will sweep the frequency of the 2010 over
one complete length of the FREQUENCY SCALE, either logarithmically or linearly. To re-
