You are prompted to position the Kodak Gray Scale strip (included in your
DocuColor 40 CP media pack) and the measurement page on the scanner. If you don't
use the Kodak Gray Scale strip, the DocuColor 40 CP performs AutoCal 1, measuring
only the color strips. If you do use the Kodak Gray Scale strip, the DocuColor 40 CP
performs AutoCal 2, which measures the gray tones (to correct for possible drift in the
scanner) as well as the color strips. The scanner scans the page and creates an internal
measurements file.
