Installation

4.1

Preparation

WARNING!
Risk of injury due to uncontrolled evasion of the medium!
If the pressure was not relieved completely, the medium can evade uncontrolled. Depending on the type of medium, risk of injury may
exist.
► Completely relieve pressure in the pipes prior to dismounting.
► Completely empty and rinse pipe prior to dismounting in connection with harmful, flammable, or explosive media. Pay attention
to potential residues.
► Provide for safe collection of the medium by implementing appropriate actions (e.g. connection of a collection container).
NOTICE!
Installation of the valve!
Incorrect installation may cause problems with tolerances.
► Make sure to join up the pipe ends with the other pipe sections only after the valve has been assembled.
NOTICE!
Fixing of the valve!
Tension within the assembly reduced the life expectancy and functionality of the valve.
► Fix the valve at both end with fixing points in order to minimise any tension within the assembly.
4.2 Installation
WARNING!
Removing of the hand lever!
A build-up of internal pressure may cause the valve pinion to pop out, leading to injury and/ or damage.
► Before removing the hand lever, any internal operating or test pressure must be released.
WARNING!
Damage to property when using the ball valve as end of line!
If the ball valve is operated without union nut and insert at the closed and the opened side, there can be malfunction of the valve.
► Make sure the valve is operated with both union nuts and inserts.
NOTICE!
Observe the installation position!
With CONTAIN-IT Plus piping systems, the installation position plays a role.
► The best assembly position is horizontal.
