Problem
Deformation and expansion of piping /
valve
Premature wear of diaphragm valve or
individual parts
Leakage to the outside at flange joint
Leakage to the outside at union nuts
Leakage between valve body and union
nut connection
Leakage at seat
Sluggish valve
Leakage of control medium on the non
connected air connections
Valve does not perform specified stroke
or even does not close or open

Possible cause of fault
Piping stresses due to restricted thermal
expansion
Material of the housing or the seal is inade-
quately resistant
Changes in temperature
Defective seal
Loose association of nut and valve body
Defective seal
Union nut is not tightened properly
Preload is incorrect
Wear of ball and/or stem
Wear of sealings
Control pressure is not selected correctly
Function and connections for control medi-
um are not compatible
Defective aeration and deaeration line.
Operating Instructions
Problem fixing
► Improve the piping support.
► Choose suitable materials, see list of
"Chemical Resistance" or the plan-
ning fundamentals.
► Tighten joint or if necessary replace
sealings.
► Replace sealings.
► Tighten joint with manual effort.
► Replace sealings.
► Screw union nut tight
► Tighten the union nut
► If necessary replace functional
parts.
► Replace sealings and if necessary
the functional parts.
► Check control pressure.
► Check connections and suitable
mode of function (FC, FO, DA)
► Check function of aeration and deae-
ration line.
