1. The drive chain should be checked for proper lubrication before
each ride.
2. Lubricate using commercial chain lubricant.

1. Move the vehicle forward to create slack in the top part of the drive
chain.
2. Collapse the suspension using an adjustable tie-down strap. Tie
the strap between the axle and the rear bumper.
3. Tighten the strap until the rear axle is at the same level as the gear-
box output shaft. This should tighten the top of the drive chain.
4. Pull the chain tensioner downward, away from the chain. Measure-
ment the deflection at the bottom of the chain. Adjust if necessary.
The drive chain deflection should be from 6 to 12 mm (0.25 to 0.5
in).

1. Place the vehicle on a level surface and set the transmission to
neutral (N).
2. Check the drive chain condition.
3. Loosen the four drive axle locking bolts.
4. Loosen the chain adjuster locknut.
