How to get an optimal level at SCU Rev Sweep input with a VSE-1100
318 –
As the SCU-1800 has a 85MHz wide band Rx input, it may be request to add an attenuation at Rx ports and avoid overrange at Rx.
To check it, disconnect the Rx port on SCU and connect it to a VSE-1100 RF port. The VSE Hyperspectrum will help to select the right attenuation as describe here after:
SCU Rx Port#1

Use the VSE-1100 internal attenuation to get optimal 0dbmV / 60dBµV
measurement range at SCU Rx
The VSE automatically attenuates by
18dB the Rev RF signal to get an
optimal internal measurement range

Insert 18 + 2-3 dB attenuation at SCU Rev Sweep Input to be in
0dBmV (60 dBµV) optimal Rx range . Setup TPC = 20dB on SCU Rx port.
If a 20dB attenuation pad is used,
the VSE don't need to attenuate the
Rev RF signal. So now the signal
can be also used at SCU Rx.
